Everything about the flight, in your hand and in the field
AXPA Pilot is what you open when you get to the site: whether you can fly here and now, the operation you prepared in AXPA Planner, the pre-flight checklist, approaching traffic and what to do if something goes wrong. It works without coverage and on professional DJI controllers too.
Flying with a DJI RC Plus or RC Pro? See how it works on the controllerFree. With your AXPA account: the same one as AXPA Planner and AXPA Fleet.

A day in the field, screen by screen
Real screenshots of the app, with real data. This is AXPA Pilot from the moment you arrive until you pack up.
Can I fly here, now?
The answer in one word and its colour, with what decides it: the weather against your drone’s limits, the airspace zones where you are, and whether it is daytime.
- Weather now and for the next hours, with your model’s wind and temperature limits
- The zones that affect you and the procedures you need
- Works without coverage with the last data it downloaded

Today’s operation
The operation you prepared in AXPA Planner arrives on its own: its category, ceiling, drone and how far you are from the area.
- Tells you whether you are inside the area or how many kilometres away
- One tap to see it on the Planner map
- Its documents, in AXPA Fleet

The next hours, one by one
Wind, gusts and temperature hour by hour, judged against your drone’s limits. You see at a glance when you can fly and when you cannot.
- AXPA’s model corrected with stations and radar
- Minute-by-minute rain and thunderstorm alerts
- Night and the geomagnetic index, also taken into account

The zones where you are
What restricts flight at that point, with the authority’s wording, and the procedures you need for your operation’s category and height.
- Active NOTAMs for the area, exactly as the authority publishes them
- The same viability engine as AXPA Planner
- Based on the country you are in, not your company’s

The checklist, signed
Your organisation’s checklist or AXPA’s standard one, with time, position and signature. It reaches AXPA Fleet on its own and cannot be changed once signed: it counts as evidence.
- Items that appear on their own depending on conditions: at night, with gusts, with observers
- Without coverage it is saved and sent when the connection returns
- Signing it starts traffic monitoring

Approaching traffic
Aircraft and helicopters via ADS-B, gliders and paragliders via FLARM, and drones with Remote ID. If one may cross your flight, it alerts you, even with the app closed.
- A radar that turns with your phone’s compass
- Alerts by height above your ground, not above sea level
- On Android it alerts even with DJI Pilot 2 in front or the screen off

Smart alerts
Pilot works out the probability that each aircraft crosses the area and height where you fly, and in how many seconds, and alerts you the way you choose, even with the app closed.
- Separately for aircraft, free flight and drones: alarm, vibration or on screen only, and the sensitivity
- Against the area and ceiling of today’s operation; your fleet’s drones never alert you
- An estimate from heading, speed and how reliable the data is: watching the sky still comes first

Emergency, at hand
The country’s emergency number, your position ready to read out over the phone, and the contacts of whoever controls the zone.
- Coordinates with hemispheres, the way they are read out
- The tower’s phone number where the authority publishes it
- Log the incident with photos and position, and it reaches AXPA Fleet

Get started in two minutes
Choose how you will use it. If you have a professional DJI controller, you can use both.
On your phone
For any drone, including those you fly with DJI Fly.
- 1Download itFree on the App Store or Google Play.
- 2Sign in with your accountIf you have AXPA Planner on your phone, tap “Continue with AXPA Planner” and you are in: no password and no extra device.
- 3Get to the site and open itIt tells you whether you can fly, shows today’s operation and keeps the checklist one tap away.
With your DJI controller
For pilots who fly with DJI Pilot 2 on an RC Plus, RC Plus 2, RC Pro or Smart Controller.
- 1Install it on the controllerThe controller has no Google Play: it is installed from axpa.app.
- 2Sign in with your phoneThe controller shows a QR code; you scan it with your phone and it signs in with your account. Nobody types passwords on the controller.
- 3Fly with DJI Pilot 2 as usualPilot watches the traffic in the background and uploads your flight logs to AXPA on its own.
AXPA Pilot on the controller, next to DJI Pilot 2
On the controller, Pilot does the same as on your phone, plus what can only be done there: alert you to traffic while you watch DJI Pilot 2 and upload your flight logs without you having to remember.
DJI RC Plus, RC Plus 2, RC Pro and Smart Controller. Consumer controllers (DJI RC, RC 2, RC-N) do not accept third-party apps: with them, Pilot runs on your phone.
- Sign in with a QR code. Scan the code with your phone and the controller is in. If several pilots share it, each signs in with their own.
- Your flight logs, on their own. Pilot uploads to AXPA the logs DJI Pilot 2 saves on the controller, as soon as there is a connection. It only reads them: it does not delete or change anything.
- Traffic with DJI Pilot 2 in front. If a low aircraft approaches, an alarm sounds even while you are watching the drone’s video.
- The checklist on the big screen. Landscape, with large buttons to use with the controller in your hands.

Download for the controller
AXPA Pilot does not control the drone or replace DJI Pilot 2: you fly with DJI Pilot 2 and Pilot works alongside it.
How to install it
- 1In the controller’s browser, open axpa.app/pilot/mando and download the APK.
- 2If the controller asks, allow installing apps from the browser.
- 3Open the downloaded file and install it.
- 4Open AXPA Pilot, tap “Sign in with your phone” and scan the QR code with your phone.
- 5In Settings, choose the DJI Pilot 2 logs folder once. From then on, they upload on their own.
Free, and every plan adds more
The app is a free download and has no plan of its own: each AXPA plan unlocks in Pilot the same as in the rest of the platform.

Frequently asked questions
Does Pilot control the drone?
No. Pilot does not connect to the drone or replace DJI Fly or DJI Pilot 2: you fly with your usual app and Pilot gives you everything else, alongside it.
Does it work without coverage?
Yes. It keeps the last data it downloaded (weather, zones, your operation), and what you sign without a connection is sent on its own when the connection returns. What needs a connection at that moment, such as traffic, tells you when it has no data: it never shows you an empty sky because of a lost connection.
Does it count as another device on my account?
No, if you sign in with “Continue with AXPA Planner” on the same phone: the two apps count as one device. The DJI controller does not count against your devices either: it counts against your organisation’s controllers.
Which controllers does it work on?
On professional DJI controllers running Android that accept third-party apps: RC Plus, RC Plus 2, RC Pro and Smart Controller. Consumer controllers (DJI RC, RC 2, RC-N) do not accept them; with them, Pilot runs on your phone.
Are there differences between iPhone and Android?
On iPhone, Pilot alerts you to traffic with the app open; with the app closed it can only alert on Android, which is also what DJI controllers run.
Do I need AXPA Planner?
Not to get started: Pilot tells you whether you can fly where you are without preparing anything. Operations are prepared in AXPA Planner, and Pilot takes them to the field.
